We are so pleased to introduce the GitHub Social Circle, which lets you see and share who you collaborate with.
For now, it’s only for public (Open Source) projects on GitHub. We’ll be expanding soon…
Larger, closer circles are your tight-knit team, who you worked with the most over the last year. Smaller, distant circles are team members you don’t spend as much time working with.
Surprised by who your closest collaborators are? Want to work more closely with those in your outer circle?
Let them know by sharing and tagging them on your social network.
In recognition of this launch, we are giving away Sema swag.
Here are all of the ways you can get Swag:
1. The first 5,000 users who create a GitHub Social Circle and post it on Twitter or LinkedIn while @ing Sema will get a sheet of Sema stickers.
How to participate:
- Create a Social Circle
- Post on Twitter or LinkedIn using the share buttons
- Mention Sema in the post: @semasoftware1 on Twitter and @Sema on LinkedIn
- Add your mailing information to this form
2. The first 100 users from each country who share a GitHub Social Circle will get a sheet of Sema stickers.
Open Source is a global community and we want to celebrate that everyone can participate from anywhere.
How to participate:

- Be sure to list your country (of course!)
3. The first 1,000 Open Source Maintainers who share a GitHub Social Circle will get a gift card to Sema’s merch store.
Open Source Maintainers make the coding world go round, and we’d like to say a special thank you to them.

4. The 25 people with the largest GitHub Social Circles (most collaborators) will get a gift card to Sema’s merch store.
How to participate:
- When you @Sema when you share your Social Circle, point out that it is large
5. The 25 people with the largest number of likes, comments, and retweets on their Social Circle will get a gift card to Sema’s merch store.
How to participate:
- Tweet a screenshot to https://twitter.com/semasoftware1 over the weekend when you’ve gotten a high number of interaction on your Twitter or LinkedIn Accounts.
